 History of Shouonji

Year 1968: 11th resident priest SHAKU GIEI had
      reconstructed Shouonji at area of Goryo.

Year 1945: When 10th resident priest SHAKU SHUSHIN took
      over the position, Shouonji was still at in
      front of Nishi Hongwanji (Ganjitsu-cho, Samegai
      street). Mean while, the temple had been
      teardown due to expanding Horikawa street.

Year 1646: 1st resident priest SHAKU KUGEN initiated
      Shouonji.
